Car for sale on EBay UK. Has had a fight with a tree and didn't win!
EBay item 330098959701.
THIS XK150 HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF A RECENT CHASSIS UP RENOVATION,PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING APART FROM THE FRONT WINGS AND BONNET APPEAR NEW,OR RECONDITIONED. MECHANICALY EVERYTHING HAS EITHER BEEN RENEWED,OR RECONDITIONED.UNFORTUNATLY NOT LONG AFTER THIS THE VEHICLE HAD AN ARGUMENT WITH A TREE.THE ENGINE AND GEARBOX HAVE BEEN REMOVED,TO ALLOW A MORE DETAILED INSPECTION OF THE DAMAGE.IT WOULD APPEAR THE FRONT SECTION OF THE CHASSIS WILL REQUIRE EXSTENSIVE REPAIR OR POSSIBLE REPLACMENT{ I.E} CHASSIS LEGS AND CROSSMEMBER.THERE IS NO SUSPENSION DAMAGE.THE FRONT WINGS WOULD REPAIR USING HALF REPLACMENT WINGS.BONNET WOULD REPAIR ALTHOUGH IT MAY BE EASIER TO LOCATE A SECOND HAND ONE.ALSO A BUMPER AND RADIATOR,THESE ARE THE MAJOR ITEMS REQUIRED,OBVIOUSLY THERE WILL BE LESSER ITEMS REQUIRED.AS IM SURE YOU ALL ARE AWARE EVERYTHING IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS CAR FROM VARIOUS SUPLIERS,AND PRICES DO VARY,I KNOW AS I'VE BEEN CHECKING.PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT THIS CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS CONTENDER AT ANY CLASSIC JAGUAR SHOW.

Car returned to auction 12/09
www.barons-auctions.com/details.php

Auction description:
Model XK150 3.4 DHC
First Registered 1958
Registration No VSN918
Engine No V5995-8
Chassis No S827269DN
MOT Dec 2010
Colour Carmen Red

Offered here is an XK150 Drop Head Coupe of 1958 vintage (registered 1959), which has been the subject of extensive restoration and upgrading for modern driving.

The vendor rebuilt this car after it had suffered accident damage. Original wings were sourced from a donor car and a new, old stock, bonnet was supplied by a specialist. The body was then removed from the chassis and the chassis was powder coated prior to starting the rebuild. The car was then rebuilt from the bare chassis up and finished to the vendors own specification. This included power steering, a BMW (Getrag) 5-speed manual gearbox and Coopercraft brakes. The overdrive switch now powers an electric choke..

Finished in Carmen red with red leather interior and sitting on chrome wire wheels, the car is equipped with the 3.4 litre, XK engine and is said to be a joy to drive. It is offered in exceptional condition.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
