Description:
This superb vehicle is the 85th right-hand drive XK150 Drophead Coupe built and one of just 663 examples made in total (left-hookers destined for the American market always formed the bulk of XK production) making it a very rare car indeed. Factory records show this car was delivered by Henlys of London to Bradfield Brett & Co. in 1958 and it subsequently migrated to Australia, where it was first registered to one Ronald Simmons of South Oakleigh, Victoria on the 15th of May, 1969. In May 1974, the Jaguar went to George Mania of Balwyn, Victoria and from him to Jeffrey Trappet in Laverton a month later. After passing through two further owners in Victoria in the mid-1970s, the car finished up with Dennis Crowhurst of South Australia late in 1984. Crowhurst completed the restoration and an indication of the superb condition achieved by him was the first place garnered in the XK Class of a local Concours d’Elegance in 1990. The XK150 was re-registered in New South Wales in January 2004 and in the lovely period livery of Clotted Cream with red leather upholstery, makes an eye-catching classic that drives as well as it looks. Sold registered in New South Wales with number plates XK-0058. Receipts of work done are also included.
