Did the bits from S824710BW go into this one? What was the reg?

Dear Peter [Ingram},
Just seen your comment ,and I can confirm that I used a bonnet, grille and front bumper from a "demic" White coloured XK150 FHC to repair my damaged 150.
That was about 1975 & I cannot remember the VIN of that car, but it was registered something like 999 BUP or 999 PUB ? I bought it minus eng` & g`box , trim, etc and scrapped the entire car after removing the parts i needed. A big job broke out, and I ended up doing a "body off " complete restoration, mechanical, electrical, paint & trim !
Never regretted it, as the car has been totally trouble free for 30 years out of the 39 years I`ve owned it.
Regards , Guy

Please ammend records as I sold the car in March 2009 after 40 years of ownership and it has now been re-painted by the new owner Mr D Tonge.
I`m regretting selling it now I`ve seen it in all its splendour !
Kind Regards,
Guy.

Note. Reason for non original Engine number on this car.
I fitted a Jaguar factory reconditioned engine to this car SBV405 at Jaguar House, [Ashton Preston Garages Ltd] in 1966 before buying the car a couple of years later and enjoying it for the next 43 years. I sold the car to a Mr D. Tonge, and it has since been sold on to a Mr C. Miller.
Saw the car on a rally Aug 2014 . Was still maintained in Condition 1.

Mr Garlick of Preston reported this car stolen in 1970-he gave details in the "XK Bulletin" Jan 1971.
giving the SBV 405 registration number and the engine number as VA 2196-8

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
