A very well restored car only requiring some minor attention to bring it back to it's restored concours condition. Allthough the car has been converted to a DHC it has been done correctly and this conversion is reflected in the asking price. Where else would you fing a XK 150 in near concours condition for less than £33,000. The Jersey registration number is not included.

Originally supplied in Derby as a 3.4 FHC it somehow managed to find it's way to South Africa. It subsequently underwent a full and thorough restoration to include a brand new rear end of a DHC 150 which enabled it's conversion into a DHC. There is no structural differences between a FHC and a DHC, purely the rear deck where the hood secures. This restoration and this conversion has been carried out correctly and properly. It has been with it's current owner for several years now but minimal use has resulted in it being placed up for sale. It comes with a heritage certificate and a photo album showing the extent and standards that the restoration was undertaken to.The car also attained a score of 1942.5 in the Jaguar Club of South Africas Concours in the year 2000.

Body off chassis restoration. All sand blasted and repaired with photographic file of the work. The body has been painted seperatly prior to fitting to the chassis. The engine bay is concours, the underside is body colour and excellent. The restoration has been undertaken to an excellent standard. Over six years since it's restorationon a few minor requirments have been spotted, ie re-hang the passangers door, attend to minor bubbling on front wing bottoms, re underseal and attend to a couple of chrome parts and this car would be back in concours condition. Like any old car there is always something to do!

The car drives very well indeed with many new parts fitted during the restoration. It was noted that a few minor requirments were necessary if one wants to bring the car into tip top condition.

Retrimmed to very high standard. Immaculate. The odd little bit of detailing would bring the car back to concours condition.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
