Auction description:
1959 3.4litre JAGUAR XK150 Drop Head Coupe
Reg. No. PSJ 864
Chassis No. S824753DN
Engine No. V60228
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust identify this car as having first been delivered to dealers Rossleigh of Dundee on the 7th January 1959 at which point it was in fixed head coupe guise but a genuine right hand drive vehicle. Now the property of a gentleman, (in possession for the last 16 years) who commissioned a restoration project which took place over some 2-3 years, the resultant conversion has been secreted away since completion. The history file contains copious evidence of the many new parts fitted and the work carried out which includes complete re-trimming of the interior. Sitting on its brand new spoked wheels and handsomely finished in green with a cream interior, the manual, overdrive equipped XK fired up readily on inspection, the owner admits that he has only really driven the car around the estate and just 36 miles are indicated on the 140mph Smiths instrument, most of its post restoration life has been spent in dry storage in a stable and as such re-commissioning for the road may be required. Supplied with a continuous run of MOTs from 1998 (21 miles recorded) until 2003, reprinted operating, maintenance and service handbook, V5 document and a quantity of old SORN documents. A handsome vehicle with true class and breeding and probably the most evocative car of its era.
Result: NOT SOLD
