3.4L Inline-Six

VINS 824408DN

This Jaguar XK150 SE 3.4 FHC is a timelessly elegant classic 2+2 British grand tourer, which benefits from an extensive and well-documented previous restoration.

It is powered by a 3.4-litre DOHC straight-six engine, producing around 210bhp, coupled to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

The car benefits from a comprehensive 'nut and bolt' restoration carried out between 1993 and 2006, with supporting photographs and receipts totalling £45,000.

Previously registered overseas, this XK150 spent time in South Africa, and was imported into the UK and first registered with the DVLA in August 2015. It has been with its current owner since November 2017.

The odometer indicates 5,225 miles, though this is not warranted.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

Originally painted black, this XK150 SE 3.4 FHC is now finished in the appealing shade of Indigo Blue, over a red leather-trimmed interior, featuring matching carpets, a beige headlining, a wood veneer dashboard inlay, and chrome trim highlights.

It rides on a set of 16-inch cross-spoke wire wheels with two-spoke chrome knock-offs, and shod in Excelsior Stahl Sport Radial tyres.

Equipment includes twin front spotlights, a Webasto sunroof, a chrome rear luggage rack, a wood-rimmed Moto Lita steering wheel, push-out front and rear quarter light windows, Smiths gauges, a trickle charger point within the engine bay, and tinted glass sun visors.

The car will be supplied with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, Jaguar owner’s manual, photos of the restoration, the V5C, the original build plaque, a tool roll, a knock-off hammer, two sets of keys, a trickle charger, and a large collection of receipts for all work completed.

CONDITION

Specific notes from the seller include: the car previously underwent a full ‘chassis off’ repainting including sand-blasting and powder coating. There is now evidence of micro-blistering to some areas of the paintwork, attributed to moisture in the compressor during repainting, and the interior has been completely re-trimmed, including carpets and underlay in the original colours, with all new rubber pipework and window rubbers. The car has completed less than 750 miles since its restoration.

The seller notes that the electric clock is not working.

This vehicle is now believed to be exempt from mandatory MOT testing due to its age.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
