Car now offered at:
www.rawlesclassiccars.co.uk/sales/jaguar-xk150-2/

Sellers description:
1958 UK Jaguar XK150 for sale, offered as a running and useable project for an enthusiast of the marque.

The bodywork is in fair condition and the interior is very original. The car starts well and drives nicely, the engine pulls just as you would expect from an XK.
There is not a huge amount of history with the vehicle, but it does have MOT's dating back to 1991 as well as some photographic documentation of previous work completed. More recently, in 2017, over £4,000 was spent with a Jaguar specialist to get the car reconditioned after standing for some years, this included a full service, replacement of the brake and clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, hi-torque starter motor and full check over.

Overall, this is an excellent investment ready to be used and enjoyed with the view to become a future project.

Car to return to auction 9/18
www.barons-auctions.com/view-lot/2600/for-sale-at-barons-auctions-1958-jaguar-xk ...

1958 Jaguar XK 150 FHC SE
Guide Price: £35,000 to £45,000
Manufacturer: Jaguar
First Registered: 1958
Model: XK 150 FHC SE
Registration No: 1286 DT

Chassis No: S 824369 DN
MOT: Not Required
Colour: Red

An original 1958 RHD UK car, 3.4 ltr. straight 6 with 4 speed gearbox and Overdrive. In good condition being sold as a running, driving project car. Restored some years ago and benefitting from recent recommissioning work totaling £4,000, this included a full service, replacement of the brake and clutch master cylinders and slave cylinder, hi-torque starter motor, new inner wheel arch/battery cover panels and a full check over. The car had been in long term ownership since the early 1990's and comes with a small amount of history and photographs from this time and its early restoration. Has had just 5 former keepers in its 60 year life.
The engine starts and runs well and the car is a pleasure to drive. Body and chassis numbers are matching however it has received an engine change at some point. Interior appears to be original, the paint/bodywork although presentable would benefit from some work, showing signs of age and use. The car appears to have originally been light blue and has had an extensive colour change later in life. An affordable 'Big Cat' with scope to improve.. Comes with some history and old MOT certificates and documents dating back to the 1990's but its early history is as yet unknown. Would suit a marque enthusiast looking for an honest, useable car or a genuine UK car as a basis for future restoration. Comes with a good spare set of doors and some assorted spare parts.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
