This 1956 Jaguar XK140 MC is a left-hand-drive drophead coupe that is powered by a replacement 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in green over brown and equipped with a black convertible top, 16″ wire wheels, a C-type cylinder head, an aluminum radiator, an alternator, dual SU carburetors, a wood dashboard, and a modern stereo system. The car was refurbished circa 1990 and acquired by the seller in 2004. Service within the last year included adjusting the carburetors, refurbishing the fuel tank, and replacing the fuel pump, fuel filler hose, fuel-level sending unit, and fuel lines. This XK140 is now offered with refurbishment photographs, copies of service records, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in green and features an integrated windshield frame, roll-up side windows, exterior door handles, and an insulated black convertible top with a plastic rear window. Brightwork includes the window trim, grille, fender-mounted side mirrors, chrome bumpers with overriders, and a chrome center spear.
Chrome 16″ wire wheels are secured with two-eared knockoffs and mounted with 215/70 Bridgestone Dueller H/T tires. Braking is from four-wheel drums.
The interior features brown leather bucket seats, lap seatbelts, a wood dashboard, and wood trim on the door panels. A Secret Audio stereo is installed and the controller is mounted in the glovebox. The seller reports that the heater core has been removed and that the clock and the horn do not work.
The four-spoke steering wheel wears a lace-up rim cover and fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer indicates 58k miles, approximately 7k of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with a C-type cylinder head, dual SU carburetors, an alternator, a spin-on oil filter, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The carburetors were reportedly adjusted within the past year.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Service within the last year included refurbishing the fuel tank and coating its interior, as well as replacing the fuel pump, fuel filler hose, fuel-level sending unit, and fuel lines.
Refurbishment photographs and invoices are included in the sale.
