This is the rare Galo Mateos XK140 as described in the Roland Urban book "Les Métamorphoses du Jaguar".
"It was in 1960 that Galo Mateos, a well-known Spanish coachbuilder, considered as an artist in his country, designed a body for a 1956 XK 140, chassis # S815518. Its owner, an American resident in Madrid, ordered it new but sent it inmediately to the States for the car to be tuned up.
The car returned with an extra 100 bhp and a supercharger. Due to the difficulties met in keeping the engine cool in normal operating conditions (due to the tight fit in the engine bay !), the owner decided to order a new roadster body, with quite exceptional results."
