Current bid $6,766, no reserve, 7 bids, 5 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1956 Jaguar XK140 Fixed Head Coupe. This appears to be a complete and solid vehicle needing full restoration. This vehicle is located in Justin, Texas and is being offered by the estate of the previous owner. I have very little history available other than it was transferred many years ago from California. The last records show a 1980 registration. This example is very solid, with most parts included although the vehicle does need a complete restoration. It hasn't been started in many years. The vehicle has a clear title. The vehicle number on the title is G512785 and the cowl plate reads J5204.

Vehicle is listed as pick-up only in Justin, TX and is being advertised locally.

We spent some time today documenting the numbers and equipment and here's what we have: Special Equipment model with Type C engine, fog lamps and dual exhaust. Mileage 42,536, Chassis # S814806, Body # J5204, Engine # G5127-8S and Gear Box # JL31742. I have included several photos of the Vin plate showing these numbers to be correct. We also found California registration papers with the same owner going back to 1972. It is very complete and I found no major rust issues. It appears to have been undercoated so it is very solid. There is light surface rust (but no rust through) in the trunk and very light surface rust in the engine bay. No rust issues were found underneath. All glass is present. There is one minor dent on the left rear fender about 1 foot long.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
