A comercial pilot career took me to Hawaii in 1977. I bought my 140 in 1995. After retiring in 2005, I have more time to keep it looking, and running,. A side benefit of ownership is all the friends I've met here and around the world. (email)Updated December 10th, 2010. Not legal proof of ownership. |

Orginal engine is missing. Car is currently fitted with a MK 2 3.8L engine with two HD8 carb's, performance cams, and an aluminum flywheel. I wouldn't install the cams if I was going to do it over again. I am rebuilding a G series engine (original XK-140 series) which will have a "C" head. I swapped the rear axel from a 150 which made it possible to fit the original spoked rims and lowered the ratio considerably. I kept the disc brakes from the 150 also, but didn't install the "plumbing" that normally went on the 150. The car is used as a daily driver and after a new electrical harness was fitted, it became 100% more reliable. It is the only FH 140 on the island except for one other with a Chevy engine that's been sitting in a garage or many years.
