Ebay item 7/10/18
www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Jaguar-XK-/173402952613
Car has a buy it now price of $27,500 for 6 days, seller vmc999, 36k miles, car now said to be in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Sellers description:
I purchased this car in 2016 with the intention to do a full restoration. I have since downsized my garage and must sell some of the unfinished projects.
The only thing that we have done since I purchased this vehicle was take it to my mechanic who oiled down the cylinders, turned the engine, installed new spark plugs, pulled the starter and cleaned the bendix and briefly started the engine off of a gas can just to make sure it would run. I did confirm the Chassis number as S814149DN, the block number as G3006-8S but the head number is G8660-8 - I did not check the gear box number. The vehicle build date was April 1955 but the title has it as a 1954, a California registration from 1973 found in the vehicle has it listed as a 1955 so somewhere between then and when I got the car there must have been a typo made. The information provided to me at the time of purchase indicated the mileage of 36081 as actual but I have no way to verify if that is correct.
The Heritage Certificate indicates the original distributor was in CA and the car came from California when I purchased it where it had been stored for many years. It seems like a very solid car and I have not seen any significant rust issues. The front and rear bumpers are included with the car but not shown in the photos.

Car returns to ebay 8/28/23
Car has a buy it now price of $89,900 for 4 days, seller sevenhillscincinnati, 38k miles, same location different seller.
Seller's description:
This XK140 was treated to an extremely high-quality restoration of the paint, chrome, and interior. The car has a stunning British Racing Green paintjob, brilliantly refinished chrome, and a beautiful cinnamon tan interior. It looks beautiful, runs great, and is a pleasure to drive.
We have checked the numbers on this car. The stamping on the right side of the engine block reads "G 3006-8S." The stamping on the top center of the cylinder head is "G-8660-8." The body number is "J 4223," the J is correct for a Fixed-head Coupe. The chassis number, "814149," is stamped on the right frame rail.
This is an excellent opportunity to own a very rare and highly desirable classic Jaguar. The market on Jaguar XK's is very hot right now, especially for premium examples like this car. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. There is no way someone could purchase a similar Jaguar and restore it to this level of quality for anything near our asking price. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of how exceptionally nice this Jaguar really is.
As a side note, this XK140 is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Jaguar, just give us a call.
