Being offered UNRESERVED.
Very desirable 1955 Jaguar XK140 FHC. With Jaguar Certificate and Import Approval.
Vendor Notes:
The original distributor was Hornburg, Los Angeles USA (still trading today). Date of dispatch 21st March 1955.
The XK 140 has an original Heritage Trust Certificate number 49544, which will be included.
This is a very early production model, the 56th ever produced, making it extremely rare and desirable.
The coachwork is in original rust free condition.
Yes it has patina which is commensurate with the vehicle and suits the XK 140 superbly.
Driven regularly and enjoyed the XK in my custodianship over the last 11 years.
In that time reconditioned brake wheel cylinders have been fitted with brand new fuel tank.
Rear leaf springs have been replaced, along with new water pump and gaskets.
Furthermore a new brass radiator replaced with electric cooling fan.
A new stainless steel exhaust kit has also been fitted from front to rear.
The XK 140 SE “special equipment”, includes chromes wire wheels, a “C” type head, boosting the performance, windscreen squirters, dual exhaust & overdriveā¦ these were all extra options only on the SE models.
The original chrome wire wheels, have been replaced with brand new triple laced chrome 15 X6 “E Type Jag” and new white wall tyres. (at considerable expense)
The end resultā¦ better handling , nicer stance.
In summary,
This very early and original Jaguar XK 140 SE Fixed Head Coupe’ is rare, rust free coachwork and an appreciating asset, for the astute buyer who insists on old world charm.
