MATCHING NUMBER XK140MC FIXED HEAD COUPE' WAS LAST DRIVEN IN 1965. IT WAS FOUND RECENTLY IN A BARN IN SOUTH DAKOTA. I BELIEVE THE 58 ,000 MILES TO BE ORIGINAL. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, ONLY THE SMALL DENTS AND DINGS THAT ARE VISIBLE........THE RIGHT WINDSCREEN HAS A ROCK CRACK BOTH SCREENS ARE ORIGINAL.......THE CAR WAS PUT UP WHEN THE STARTER MOUNTING PLATE BROKE AND COULD NOT BE REMOVED. I HAVE REPAIRED THAT AND INSTALLED A NEW STAINLESS EXHAUST SYSTEM AND BRAKE SYSTEM SO THE CAR CAN BE DRIVEN. IT NOW RUNS AND DRIVES WELL. THE ENGINE RUNS 40/60 LBS. OIL PRESSURE HOT AND RUNS PERFECTLY WITH NO SMOKE. THE GEARBOX WORKS QUIETLY AND SHIFTS SMOOTHLY. THERE ARE NO WATER, OIL, HYDRAULIC LEAKS ANYWHERE. THE CAR IS 100% COMPLETE. INCLUDING ORIGINAL TIRE TOOLS IN THE BOOT.MOST OF THE CHROME IS STILL IN VERY GOOD COND. I HAVE THE BACKLIGHT CHROME SET ASIDE AND THE ORIG. SPARE TIRE AND HOLDDOWN AS WELL.... THE CAR HAS VERY LITTLE RUST FROM THE DOOR A POST FORWARD,EVEN THE BATTERY BOX FLOORS HAVE MINIMAL RUST. THERE IS NO RUST ON THE FRAME ANYWHERE. THERE IS EXTENSIVE RUST AT THE BOTTOM OF BOTH SIDE B POSTS AND LOWER REAR FENDER DOGLEGS. THE SPARE WHEEL WELL FLOOR IS RUSTED OUT AND ALSO HAS SOME RUST ON THE SIDES OF THE SPARE WHEEL WELL. THE REAR FENDERS HAVE RUST WHERE THEY BOLT TO THE BODY IN VARIOUS PLACES. ALTHOUGH THERE IS SURFACE RUST FORWARD OF THE DOORS, THAT IS ALL IT IS. EXCEPT A SMALL REPAIR WILL BE NEEDED UNDER THE FRONT FENDERS BELOW THE HEADLIGHT BUCKETS. ALL INSTRUMENTS WORK INCLUDING THE CLOCK AND FUEL GAUGE, ALTHOUGH THE SENDING UNIT IS FROZEN. THIS CAR WILL COME WITH THE ORIGINAL SOUTH DAKOTA TITLE WHICH I AM WAITING FOR, OR A CALIFORNIA TITLE.
