This may not be a valid XK 120 however does have an XK 120 VIN. Its assumed that S813270 served as the donor, at least for registration, for the C-type car offered. If this proves to be incorrect please contact the webmaster (bottom of page)

The Jaguar XK120 C, or type C, was the competition version of the famous XK120. In fact this is quite a different car, even though many parts are shared. The race version benefits from a lighter and more rigid chassis. The engine, being the same as the XK120's, develops 50 additional horsepower, whilst the car weighs around 300 kg less. This type C replica was built by Proteus to roadster specifications, who along with Lynx and Artech are the most reputable constructers of Jaguar racing replicas. The mechanics originate from a Jaguar XJ6 3,4 1976 (including the engine, gearbox, transmission, rear differential). The tubular chassis, polyester bodywork, and leather seats were made by Proteus themselves. In order to resemble the type C engines, the car features polished camshafts covers, a cylinderhead painted in red, and 3 in 1 exhaust manifolds. The car is painted in the traditional Jaguar racing blue. The most easy-to-drive-everywhere Jaguar C type replica available. A lot of work has been done by the present owner to make it trouble free. The engine was entirely rebuilt less than 5,000 Km ago by one of the very best French specialists with no regard to costs - and converted to unleaded fuel. Combined with 3 side draft Weber carburators, the engine now produces 240 hp and is very reliable. The gearbox is the Jaguar 4 speed + overdrive, just like competition cars the car has a dual hydraulic brake master cylinder with a single split master cylinder tank + ventilated disc brakes at front. The cooling system has been upgraded and the car never runs hot. Electric system has been entirely upgraded. Passenger will enjoy the professional rally intercom system that also includes the radio. Storage places have been created at the side if the car between body panels and seats. This is the only car of that type we have seen with all instruments and switches in perfect working order. The paint is in excellent condition and has a nice patina. The interior only needs the central carpet replacement and detailed cleaning, unless, like the owner, you want a car as original looking as possible. A total of 60,000 Euros - in addition to the buying price / with invoices - have been recently invested in the car to make it absolutely perfect to drive and nothing needs to be done any more. This is also one of the reasons the owner has decided to sell it... for a non negotiable price. French papers, “carte grise de collection”, all E.C taxes paid, no additional fees. This car has been driven in the French movie “une chance sur deux” with Vanessa Paradis, Alain Delon and Jean-Paul Belmondo. In Fall 2004, some additional work has been done with the full restoration of the brake calipers, new brake pistons, a new exhaust manifold, and a complete revision.
