I believe that this should be a correction to the first entry here which states that it sold for $52,920 at a BJ auction in 2006 with the same lot number #381.

This 1957 Jaguar XK140 MC roadster is said to have been refurbished in the early 2000s prior to its acquisition by the current owner approximately 15 years ago. Finished in red with a tan soft top over black leather, the car is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The wheel cylinders have reportedly been refreshed, and features include chrome trim, knock-off wire wheels, fender-mounted side-view mirrors, and front and rear bumpers with overriders. This XK140 is now being offered on consignment by the selling dealer with a factory service manual, partial service records, and a New Jersey title.
The car is said to have undergone a refurbishment in 2002 under prior ownership and is finished in red with a tan soft top. Equipment includes chrome trim, fender-mounted side-view mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and front and rear bumpers with overriders. Flaws noted by the selling dealer include cracks on the passenger-side of the body and an area of discoloration on the hood-mounted chrome strip.
The polished 16” wire wheels feature knock-off hubs and are wrapped in wide whitewall Coker Classic radial tires. A matching spare is located in the rear storage area, and stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners. The master cylinder is said to have been replaced, and the wheel cylinders have reportedly been refurbished during current ownership.
The cabin is trimmed in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Lap belts are fitted for both occupants, and a grab handle is mounted to the passenger-side of the dashboard.
A black four-spoke steering wheel fronts a central instrument panel that houses a suite of Smiths instrumentation including a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, a 140-mph speedometer, and a five-digit odometer that shows just under 40k miles, approximately 5k of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six has been fitted with a replacement high-performance MC cylinder head and features dual SU carburetors.
Engine block stamping G8122-8S matches the number shown on the data plate in the gallery below, while the cylinder head has been re-stamped with a corresponding number.
