    Sellers description:
1955 Jaguar XK-140 OTS ( Open Two Seater ) British Racing Green.

This numbers matching car received a professional frame-off, restoration over 10 years ago. owned by the same family for over 40 years. I'm selling this car for a good friend. After this car was restored the owner showed it locally at the concours level, the car has taken many first place finishes and often received the peoples choice award, judged by the Jaguar Club Of North America in 2005 where it scored 99.86, with deductions for radial tires and it is missing the chrome trim on the leading edge of the convertible top. In 2006 the car went from the trailered life to a driver and now shows nicely in the driver class.
This Jaguar runs like a champ, always starts, has great low-end torque and drives very smooth at 85. The car looks great but It has a few small issues. The paint is starting to show some imperfections, small cracks, door dings (could be PDR ). the interior still looks great but the seat backs have rub markets from the top bows.
We are listing the car with a moderate reserve before we make the repairs, if it doesn't make the reserve we plan making the repairs and re-listing it.

Perhaps the gearbox number should read OSL 2517B

Prior and current owners appear to have all lived in the Denver, Colorado area. Professional, frame-off, restoration ca. 2002. Showed in concourses for several years, then became a driver. Drives well and looks very good. 69,500 miles in October, 2012.

    Sellers description:
1955 XK140 SE Roadster (1955) For sale from Classic Investments, in Colorado, United States

Verified by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate, this genuine numbers matching SE roadster was built on October 19th, 1954, and sent directly through Charles Hornburg to its first owner, right here in Denver, Colorado. Originally finished in "Birch Grey" over a black interior, the car underwent a gorgeous frame-off restoration (completed in 2005) at the hands of Dave Villalovos of Mountain View Auto Restoration -a well-known restorer of the Jaguar marque in Denver. It was then that the car was converted to its current livery. The keen-eyed enthusiast may note that the cam covers fail to display the "Type C" designation. It is known by some, however, that the early 140 SE cars did not always receive this treatment and archival records corroborate the "S" stamped into the head itself.
Ownership of this car began in Denver in 1955 when a J.F. LeMon purchased the car new. While the record of ownership is absent until 1972, it is believed to have been solely owned by Mr. LeMon and remained in Colorado during this time. 1972 saw the 140 to its second owner, Norm McQueen, who purchased the car for an astounding $650! In the late 1970's the car was treated to its first restoration, performed by the owner. October or 2012 saw the car change hands from Mr. McQueen to the current owner. At that juncture the odometer registered 69,450 miles - a number which had no reason to be questioned. The current owner has covered another 3,000 on pleasure cruises, to and from local events, and even a 750 mile Rallye in Arizona, reportedly performing very well; "easily keeping up with modern cars and cruising comfortably at 70-80 mph."
Show history is another of this car's many exciting facets - shown several times at JCNA/RMJC concours events, English Motoring Conclave and the Colorado Concours d'Elegance and has won Concours class and People's Choice awards at nearly every one.
Fastidiously maintained, the car is stored in a climate-controlled, automotive museum environment. Receipts document maintenance and repairs for upwards of the last 5-years and have included: replacement of the fuel sending unity, carburetors rebuilt, minor cosmetic touch-ups and replacement of a single intake valve. The current owner has also had a custom tonneau cover made along with a bag in which to store the side curtains and protective rubber floor mats.
We are able to provide, on request, photos of the restoration performed in 2005 as well as the Heritage Certificate and additional details of the maintenance and event history of this car and are eager to address all of your questions.
