This 1954 Jaguar XK120 is a Drophead coupe that was refurbished and modified during previous ownership in 2001 with a repaint in red as well as the installation of a 302ci Ford V8 mated to a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Additional features include tan leather upholstery, a tan top boot, front disc brakes, fender-mounted side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, an aluminum radiator, and chrome knock-off wire wheels. This XK120 is now offered by the selling dealer in St. Louis, Missouri, with receipts from the refurbishment and an Arizona title.
Said to have been previously finished in white, the car was repainted its current shade of red during the refurbishment. Exterior details include a tan top boot, dual exhaust outlets, chrome bumperettes, and fender-mounted side mirrors. The car is not fitted with a soft top, though a folding top frame is included in the sale.
Chrome 16” wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is via front discs and rear drums.
The cabin houses seats trimmed in tan leather upholstery with brown door panels and black carpets. Details consist of a locking glovebox, a dash-mounted rear-view mirror, and a wood shift knob. A stereo is mounted behind the seats.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of a wood dashboard with a central instrument cluster housing Smiths instrumentation that includes a 230-km/h speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock, and auxiliary displays. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 3k kilometers (~2k miles), though total mileage is unknown.
The 302ci Ford V8 features Cobra-branded valve covers and was installed during the refurbishment. Additional equipment includes Pertronix Flame Thrower ignition components, an aluminum intake manifold, a single carburetor, an MSD distributor, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is present on the underside.
The Arizona title lists an “Exceeds mechanical limits” odometer notation.
