Ebay item 5/11/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK120SE-1953-Jaguar-XK120SE-DHC-complete-car-for- ...
Opening bid $18,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Very complete and original XK120SE, with all matching numbers. I have confirmed all numbers on the vin plate to the individual components, including the chassis number stamped on the top, left, front member. Body in very good condition, with minor perforation to both front fenders at the bottom, just behind the wheels, the sills, and the two rear corners, just behind the bumpers. The chassis is solid. There are the usual dings one would expect on a 54 year old car, and one where some implement penetrated the skin, right next to the grill. The rust spots you can see all over the front are just that, rust spots. They do not penetrate the skin. I expect they started life as stone chips. Tools in trunk came with the car, so I assume they are correct, and the radio is a Motorola. I bought this car a couple of years ago, from a gentleman who had kept it in his barn since parking it in 1963, and I had the head rebuilt with new valves, guides, springs etc. and the engine too is rebuilt with any worn part replaced, including main bearings, big end shells, pistons and rings, seals etc. I had the original rear metal seal replaced with the later rope seal too. The distributor is fitted with new points, and condenser, and the flywheel with a new gear ring. I also bought 5 new Dayton spoked rims, and 4 new spinners. I have a Jaguar heritage certificate, and the original manual, in addition to a Canadian Title. The carbs have not yet been rebuilt, although they are bead blasted. I have the kits, but did not want to do the job till I had replated the fasteners and linkages. (I never got that far). All in all, a perfect car for restoration. Finally, let me stress, this car needs a total rebuild, it stood a long time, so bear that in mind. The engine/gearbox will have to be shipped in a crate.
