Sellers description:
Jaguar XK-120 SE DHC
Very rare!
This partially restored Jaguar is missing the original head and water pump, but otherwise it is complete. I purchased this car in 1967 and I know a lot about it. I originally replaced the engine with a newer 3.5L block, B head and carburetors. After 20 or so years, I started the restoration process - my goal was to produce a drivable car.
I currently have a restored 3.8L block with an unrestored B head and newer transmission that goes with the car. In addition, I also have a parts car, W52898, which is missing the frame, but has an extra drive chain and running gear (less head and water pump, generator and starter). I also have front fenders, part of a rear fender and rear body with boot lid, and the title to it.
This jag is from the Chicago area, and has some rust problems. The floor boards and rocker panels were replaced in the 70's with custom made ones that are still sound. The door hinges and doors are OK as far as I can tell, but there is some rust below the vent doors. The rear body section has rust as well, which is why there is a spare rear section. Also, the wood is bad. There is a newer gas tank that should be OK, but it does not have a cut out for a spare tire.
There are lots of restored parts. These parts have been examined, sand-blasted, and painted with Rustolium primer and enamel.
The original block is out, and has been stored in Cosmoline, as is the transmission case and cover. The restored transmission has good gears, but is not original. I have another set of gears for the original transmission, along with an OD unit as well.
