Sellers description:
1954 Jaguar XK120 DHC. This Milestone classic car is very rare and one of only 1,471 left hand drive cars that were produced in the XK120 series. A matching numbers car that has been fitted with chrome wire wheels and SE options. The car was acquired from a long-term California owners garage and restored in 2005 by a knowledgeable Jaguar Cub member. It is finished in a rich gunmetal gray metallic paint complemented by a rich burgundy leather interior. The car has a stunning curb appeal it would make a great tour car with the comfort of roll up windows and a luxurious convertible top.
Paint is very nice on a very good rust-free body with only minor chips from occasional use. New chrome wheels have been fitted and add a elegance to the car. Bumpers and rest chrome trim have all been refinished. Glass is all good. Includes rare factory tool kit. Not a flawless car but would still score well at Jaguar concours.
Very attractive well fitted leather interior and Wilton Wool properly fitted carpets. Wood trim has been re-veneered in burled walnut. Top is the proper cloth with full padding and interior headliner that only the Drophead cars were fitted with from the factory. Original steering wheel and switches. Gauges are original and work.
The matching number twin cam 3.4 litre engine has been fully rebuilt and starts and runs smoothly and quiet. All other major components have been rebuilt and function well. Engine bay is done to Jaguar standards. This XK120 drives well on its correct bias ply vintage tires. Brakes work well and stop car true.
