1953 Jaguar XK-120SE Drop Head Coupe - VIN # S 677300 | Original engine # W 8667-8S | Engine block # 7B10697-8 (replaced) [1953_Jaguar_XK_120_DHC_20121108_004] 3.5 litre inline 6 cylinder twin overhead cams, twin SU carburators. Black with red leather interior, red Wilton wool carpet, very nice walnut burr wood, beige headliner, black canvas top and bootcover, original 16" knock off chrome wire wheels with Dunlop tires. Front disc brakes, rear wheel drum brakes with brake booster. Fantastic brakes! High efficiency aluminium radiator with electric cooling fan, stainless steel exhaust system. Car has very good door fittings and drives very well. Car is equipped with original Lucas 7" driving lights, jack, tools and owner's manual. Nice detailed engine compartment and undercarrige. We are excited to be able to offer this 1953 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe finished in Black over Red Connolly hides with a black Haartz cloth top, and most probably one of the finest examples available on the market. It is an American delivered LHD motorcar of which only 1,471 were produced during the model run from 1948-1954. After many years of ownership it was shipped back to England by a highly demanding owner who had commissioned a marque expert to orchestrate a complete frame off body, nut and bolt restoration with an open check...where no expenses were spared to bring it to better than the factory standards of its original year of production...all the while keeping it to original specs, except for one welcomed upgrade and that being an electronic ignition. Turn the key, push the start button and it immediately starts and runs like new. No messing with a manual choke, and no stalling...so you can actually drive and enjoy this masterpiece.
