Ebay item 9/26/10

Current bid $9,100 reserve not met 12 bids 7 days left in auction. Batesville, Virginia
Sellers description:
Up for auction is a 1953 Jaguar XK120 roadster. I started restoring the car several years ago and don't have the resources to complete it as it should be. This XK120 is a very original and very solid car. It has never been repainted and still has much of its original Old English white paint. It has spent most of its life in central Virginia. Its VIN is S676030 and it has a good title. It has been dismantled and most of the body repair work has been completed. The front end had been hit and has been completely redone using only metal repair and no bondo. The front rocker panels have also been repaired using only metal. The only rust remaining in the car is in the corners of the trunk. The frame is rock solid and perfectly straight. There is surface rust on the rear half of the car and on the frame. The front has been primed. The car is very straight but needs to be skim coated prior to painting. Of special note is the excellent fit on the hood, doors and trunk. The hood fits perfectly and although the aluminum trunk has a slight bend, it still has an excellent fit. The only flaw in the car is a slight gap in the lower rear part of the passenger's door.
All the parts removed from the car have been saved . The car's 3.4 liter engine is included and is at a local machine shop with the head removed but no work has been done on it. The 4 speed transmission will no doubt need to be rebuilt. There are several new parts worth noting, the most important is a show quality new grill. There is also a new gas tank and gas tank floor, all new brake shoes and cylinder kits, a new water pump. All of the dash gauges and instruments have been saved as well as all the windshield chrome. The spare tire spoke wheel is there. The only missing parts on this car are a bench seat, the convertible top frame and the door hardware. Other than those, the parts have all been saved and will allow a fairly original restoration. This is a great opportunity to buy one of the world's most beautiful cars. Much of the work has been done on this very original car.
