Opening bid $5,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This XK 120 has an exceptional body and frame. When we chemically stripped the body to the bare metal, no rust could be found, none. The frame is equally as nice. All the tin in the engine compartment is there and finished in base and clear coat pastel blue and the rear wings are finish-coated the same. Body is in sealer and ready to shoot with finish. All chrome and windshields are there and in nice shape and there is a hood rack and side curtains. Radiator, tranny, new master cylinder (XK 140), a box of new stainless steel brake lines, pedal linkage too. Generator and fuel pump and fuel tank are the only items missing.

The head was rebuilt with new valves, guides and valve seats. Block was boiled and bored to .030 and there are new AE chrome top pistons with rings, on the connecting rods. Crank was turned and set in new main bearings and there is a new gasket set and timing chain with tensioners.

The seats were rebuilt and covered in two-tone blue/navy leather by Bill Basset and are unbelievably nice, fabulous upholstery work by Basset.

There is a Jaguar Heritage Certificate for this car that states it is an SE model, and a clear Virginia title. As far as we can tell, this Jag hasn’t seen sunlight or the road since 1960.

In all, it is a very nice project that is reasonably close to completion.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
