Ebay item 12/21/18
www.ebay.com/itm/1953-Jaguar-XK-120-SE-Roadster/173700858165
Car has a buy it now price of $68,500 for 29 days, seller classiccarsandjeepparts, 9.7k miles.
Seller's description:
1953 Jaguar XK 120 SE Roadster.
This car has been in storage for some 30 + years, with the previous owner intending on taking his time to restore his pride and joy. Please note, this XK is an “SE” and is completely numbers matching, Cylinder Head, Engine Block, Transmission and Body Number are all correct as per the Jaguar Heritage Certificate that accompanies the vehicle.
This XK120 SE Roadster is one of the most rot free examples I have seen requiring restoration. The quality of the sheet metal work is very impressive and I believe it has faired very well due to its meticulous storage conditions. All body panels are very impressive, front fenders, doors, rear quarters and arches, frameā¦ this car will be a joy to restore, it’s that good. To the best of my knowledge I have seen one area and one area only of note that requires a small rust repair. Upon opening the passenger door, the rear of the jamb has a very small localised area that will require attention and a sympathetic repair only. The car is complete and will require going through, its mechanicals are all there as far as I can see, and the only thing worth mentioning is the driver’s side windshield glass is cracked and will need replacing.
This vehicle left the factory with Birch Grey Exterior Paint with contrasting Biscuit & Red Leather Interior. Originally supplied through Max Hoffman of New York 13thApril 1953 it’s condition has faired very well indeed over the years.
If your reading this then you are probably a Jaguar enthusiast and love the cars as much as we do, I can tell you if you ever wished to restore a genuinely honest, survivor XK 120 SE Roadster then this is it. Due to the car being a numbers matching example and the overall condition we feel this is the best candidate on the market today for restoration, please do not confuse this example with the other rotten examples on offer today, solid sheet metal work here only. I would ask you to look at the others on offer first, then come and inspect this, time warp survivor! The previous owner did disassemble the car partially many years ago, we have put it back together to take the images you see before you. In this process, the previous owner got as far as painting the frame only.
