Presented for sale is a body-lift professional restoration of a number's matching Jaguar XK 120 roadster with Special Equipment or "M" version. The car was originally bought by a Dr Serrault of Chicago in May of 1955 with a reported brfief racing history "on the Chicago circuit." The Doctor moved to Milwaukee where an admiring neighbor named Tom Connelly bought it in 1969, owning it for the next 30 years.

Mr Connelly moved to the Wausau Wisconsin area and briefly began a resporation. Running out of interest, he sold the car to its current owner on e-bay and the work was completed. The car has now been the recipiant of a complete restoration with 80 pages of receipts (over $63,000) and photographs documenting the process.

The body was lifted from the car with the door sills, posts, battery box, wooden floor panels, and truck floor being replaced. Other areas were patched and the entire body was striped to bare metal. Manufacturer's flaws were dealt with and the primer and wet sanding process begun. The deep midnight blue color is a Jaguar color and with the multiple coats, looks to be 1/4 inch deep. Definitely show quality.

The interior was redone by an interior shop experienced with this model and a history of national show winners. The hides are of Connelly leather (biscuit in color) and Wilton wool carlets. All interior knobs and guage bezzels and rechromed or replaced. The battery box area is inpeccable. The door fit is firm and straight. The top is custom made and brand new. The rear glass is new with new surround, chrome base plate and body clips. The seat frames, undercarrage, and top clips are painted to match the interior.

The car was reassembled using thousasnds of dollars in small bits, rubber, bezzels, and parts, All chrome was triple-plated to show standards. The wiring harness is new, built to original specifications, and seems to have eliminated the usual "Lucas gremlins." The motor has been gone over by a certified Jaguar mechanic with experience in 120s and all the cylinder preasures exceed 140. It is tuned, timed and runs smoothly. The transmission shifts smoothly and the exhaust tone is classic Jaguar piped through a new, stainless steel dual exhaust system. The car has been driven about ten miles since completion.

Other features includxe the following:
-New Dunlap 60-spoke chrome wheels including the spare.
-New Dunlap radials including the spare.
-Reconditioned gas tank.
-Powder coated brake drums
-Tool kit and tire (or "tyre") jack.
-All new rubber parts
-Most chrome beautifully plated and the rest replaced.
-All new wiring harness, period correct with copper connections.
-All new interior knobs and bezzels.
-Rebuilt carberaters

This stunning, eligant example could be used as a driver or show car.

Sellers description:
Beautifully restored Jaguar XK120 SE Roadster. This car is absolutely immaculate from top to bottom. The bodylines are extremely straight and the Jaguar Blue paint finish is top notch. Although very beautiful, this is not an original color for these cars. We have pictures of the car before, after, and during restoration which show it's original color. The car also comes with an entire book of restoration receipts and documentation. The biscuit hide interior is all new and extremely clean. Comes with a tan soft top, side curtains, original tool kit, jack, and full size spare. This is a ground up restoration of a legendary British sports car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
