Ebay item 5/2/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XK-SILVER-WITH-RED-/111659874844
Opening bid US $86,500 reserve not met, no bids 6 days left in auction. 71k miles.

Sellers description:
THIS JAGUAR XK120SE WAS IMPORTED INTO THE UNITED STATES AT LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA AND HAS SPENT IT'S ENTIRE LIFE ON THE WEST COAST. THE FIRST OWNER LIVED IN EUGENE, OREGON AND THE CAR WAS IN THAT AREA UNTIL PURCHASED BY US FROM THE THIRD OWNER IN NEWBURG, OREGON. THE JAG WAS IN CURRENT LICENSE WHEN WE PURCHASED IT. ALTHOUGH USEABLE AS IT CURRENTLY IS THIS 120SE WOULD BENEFIT FROM A COSMETIC RESTORATION. THE ORIGINAL COLOR AND TRIM COMBINATION OF BLACK EXTERIOR WITH A BISCUIT INTERIOR WITH RED PIPING WOULD BE SPECTACULAR. THIS IS A MATCHING NUMBER CAR WITH THE ORIGINAL ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. THIS IS THE BEST DRIVING 120 THAT I HAVE BEEN IN PARTLY BECAUSE OF THE WONDERFUL FOOTBOX EXTENSION ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. XK120's HAVE ALWAYS BEEN UNCOMFORTABLE FOR SOME DRIVER'S OVER ABOUT FIVE FOOT EIGHT OR NINE. I AM SIX FOOT TALL AND WITH THE ADDED LEG ROOM FIND THIS JAGUAR TO HAVE MORE THAN ADEQUATE ROOM FOR MY LEGS. SO IF YOU ALWAYS WANTED ONE OF THESE CARS BUT STAYED AWAY BECAUSE YOU WERE TOO TALL THIS MAY BE THE ONE FOR YOU. THE ENGINE, GEARBOX AND DIFFERENTIAL ALL WORK VERY WELL. THIS JAGUAR HAS PLENTY OF POWER AND REALLY REMINDS YOU OF JUST HOW GOOD THESE CARS, ESPECIALLY THE SE MODEL, WERE IN THE EARLY 1950'S. THERE IS NO RUST ON THE BODY OR FRAME AND ALL THE SHUT LINES ARE VERY GOOD. WE HAVE SEEN NO EVIDENCE ANY PAST ACCIDENT DAMAGE. THE CHROME IS VERY GOOD AND I BELIEVE THAT THERE WOULD BE VERY LITTLE IN THAT DEPARTMENT TO RE-DO. THE JAGUAR-DAIMLER HERITAGE TRUST CERTIFICATE IS INCLUDED. THE CARPET IS OLD. THE SEATS ARE RECENTLY REDONE IN VINYL. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE ORIGINAL COLOR COMBINATION WOULD BE QUITE STRIKING AND IT WOULD BE WELL WORTH RETURNING THIS QUALITY 120SE TO THOSE SPECIFICATIONS.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
