Could the person who added this info please advise what magazine this photo is a copy of? Could they also advise where all the car data plate information came from if it did not come from the magazine article?
thanks

I used to own this car in about 1964-66. If the owner will please give me his email address, I should love to correspond with him. Delighted that she has survived!

Is this car actually 669045?

Roger
All numbers and build date support this is 669045. Orig UK reg NDU 905
xkdata says parts from 681213 were used in resto of 669045 and then it was presumably scrapped

Gents. This car is not 045. I have seen the original 045 in unrestored condition in the South Island of NZ. The car above is most likley a hybrid made up of various imported LHD parts. Very long story but involves a well known dodgy dealer in the South island! Owner of the "real" 045 has approached the owner of the above car to getthings sorted but looks like it will have to solved by lawyers.

Having owned the original NDU 905 in 1966, (or thereabouts!), I should very much like to go see her again. Any contacts available please? My email address is: info@johnstarkeycars.com.
Many thanks,

Hello,
I am researching the history of a 1953 Jaguar XK120 FHC, registered in England as NDU 905. I used to own her years ago and a now in contact with two previous owners; Years ago, in "Autosport", I found a photo of her racing at, I think, Brands Hatch. She was British Racing Green, had front disc brakes and a hotter than standard engine; The man who owned her in 1960-65 said that he had bought her from a Commercial traveler in damaged condition and repaired her. (He swapped his MG J2 Reg: UJ 859 plus cash). The commercial traveler said NDU 905 had belonged to someone called "Lumsden", but Peter Lumsden says he never owned this car.
Can anyone help? Looking for the race results, if possible, but really trying to fill in the chain of ownership.

This is the REAL 669045. It's in New Zealand, awaiting restoration.

Yes the car now pictured awaiting restoration is the real 045. The car in the photos in the magazine page was the imposter. I determined this after seeing the unrestored 045 in the South Island of New Zealand in April 2008. Would the person who recently posted the photos of the real 045 please contact me via email. thanks.

Hi John Starkey, the known history of 669045 is in The Jaguar XK120 in the Southern Hemisphere as stated above - www.jtpublications.com.au - but we did not get any owners' names between the first owner and yourself. So I would be very pleased to hear whatever else you have been able to find out about the earlier UK history. - John E

Hi all. I used to own NDU905 (669045) between 1963 and 1966 and took the above photos during a road trip to Dubrovnik in 1963. I contacted John Starkey who I found after googling NDU905 and it was he who put me in touch with the current owner in Temuka, South Island, NZ.who has owned it for the last 12 years or so with the intention of restoring it. It just so happened that my wife and I had already planned a trip with a group to NZ and we took the opportunity of making a side trip to see him and the car. It is without doubt the very same car I used to own. I was able to handle the rear parcel shelf that I had fabricated from an old piano top nearly 50 years ago. The car is in need of major restoration, having suffered a serious rear end shunt in the past. The owner is concerned that there is another RHD FHC 120 in NZ masquerading as 669045 and he would like to establish provenance. I believe John Starkey and I have overwhelming evidence to support his claim. Martin Cutter.

For those who are interested, I have written and forwarded a feature article on 669045 to the XK magazine in England, who are readying it for publication in their next issue.

Does anyone know of Anthony Lumsden-Cook? I think this was the man who raced this XK120 in the 1950s in England.

Simon Roope has just sent me the photo posted above, showing 669045, (the real one!), after a minor fender bender at Goodwood in March 1960, when driven by one Vic Parness. I know the raced at Brands Hatch too, so if anyone else knows of any further history, I should love to hear of it.
