    1957 Jaguar XK140

    Original matching numbers car

We're selling this vehicle for our neighbor, He is the third owner and says he has owned it for over 20 years. Miles show 87000, he says he's not sure of miles. No rust. . Engine has 150 miles since rebuild. Wheels on car are from 1987 allowing it to run on radials. Original wheels and tires are in great shape and come with the vehicle. Chrome looks great! Everything in working order. Vehicle has minor rock chips that have been touched up. Spot in the mohair head liner from a moth about the size of a silver dollar and vehicle could use carpets. There is also a minor noise when shifting into overdrive but his mechanic says he thinks its normal. Other than that it's a beautiful well cared for Jaguar.

With 5 days 5 hours left in the auction there have been 14 bids (US $5,000.00 starting bid) to a price of US $11,000.00 (Reserve not met)

    Sellers Description:
    1957 Jaguar X K 140 fixed head coup refurbished #2 Condition #’s Matching Automatic
You are bidding on an excellent original, all matching numbers Jag XK 140. These cars were hand built very low production (1 of 297 ). I have owned this car for 20 years. During the past seven years the car has undergone a complete refurbishment. All parts in need of repair were replaced with new or repaired to work like new. The original factory color was a maroon laquer. "THERE IS NO RUST ON THIS CAR" It has spent it’s entire life stored inside a garage so there was no rust what so ever. The car comes with a winning racing back ground. From 1951 thru 1953 the Jaguar won the Lamans beating out all exotic automobiles of the day. The engine is a newly rebuilt six cylinder and came standard with 190 horsepower. The transmission is a two speed automatic with overdrive. This car is in excellent mechanical condition and can be driven anywhere. These cars are getting scarce and very difficult to replace so I have not put more than 2 thousand miles on the it in the past 10 years. It’s never been in a wreak and the body is all original and in excellent shape. It has been repainted 2 times. The first paint job was a freshening up and the second (five years ago) was a complete inside and outside paint job because we changed colors. There have been no areas of this car left untouched. The paint job is no longer perfect because we do take it out for short road trips around our home and you just can’t avoid small rock chips in the paint. If your going to use the car from time to time as I have then it’s going to show that use. Needless to say although it is a beautiful car, it is not currently in concord condition. The interior is also in excellent shape. Again it is all original. The seats have been dyed in order to freshen them up and all the wood work has been refinished. I was able to save every bit of the wood work so it is the original interior. I have a temporary carpet in the car at this time. The original rug had some stains that would not come out so a new carpet should be installed. The door sills are in great shape. I had the body shop install a thin sheet of polished aluminum over the sill as a kick plate because there was no protection to keep it from being scuffed when getting in or out of the car. These can be removed if you like because the paint beneath them is as pretty as the outside of the car. The head liner is absolutely beautiful mohair but last year a moth found it’s way into the car and damaged a small spot about the size of a silver dollar. It is noticeable and will have to be repaired. The entire mechanical system works great. The transmission and the rear end are original but the brakes and engine have been completely rebuilt. This car runs beautifully down the road at 70 miles per hour. The wheels that I have on the car at this time are off of an 87 Jag. They allow me to run radial tires and the chrome wheels are much prettier that the original wheels. I do have the originals and they are in great shape. I had them glass blasted to bare metal and refinished. The bias ply tires on the original wheels are also in great shape and both sets include a spare. I do not have the original jack and tool set "sorry" They can however be purchased from XK’s Unlimited. I have invested around $40,000.00 and countless hours over the years to make this an exceptional collector car and investment. Yes there are a few small cosmetic things that need to be done to make this a concourse show car but there is not a more beautiful driver out there anywhere. You can bid on this car with confidence as I am sure that you wont be disappointed.
