    Car offered at:
    www.vintagerollsroycecars.com/car-details/1954-jaguar-xk140-aluminium-body-roads ...

    Sellers description:
1954 Jaguar XK140 Aluminium body roadster.
    Left Hand Drive.

    Registration number: 1-OBF-515 (Belgian).
    Chassis number: 810348

A spectacular XK140 that has had a full aluminium body hand crafted in Germany at vast expense by the late owner. IE Aluminium boot lid, bonnet, doors, & wings. At the same time the car was fitted with upgraded brakes, 5 speed Getrag gear box & a highly tuned triple carb 3.8 litre engine.

This car cost a small fortune to build & has been done with the intention of creating the ultimate drivers XK for fast road use.

It is finished in perfect silver paintwork to the exterior & has medium green leather & carpets to the interior. A kenlowe fan is fitted to assist in cooling duties up front.

You really have to drive this car to appreciate how exhilarating it is to drive; indeed it makes standard XK's look positively pedestrian. The road holding is superb due to the fitment of over sized radial tyres which also makes for a more comfortable ride. The late owner was quite tall so it suits people who are long in the leg far better then a standard car.

The car will be arriving on our stand at Technoclassica in Essen if not sold before then. Prior to the show it can be seen in Brussels by appointment. It is a far cry from a standard XK, looking utterly beautiful with its long louvred bonnet & going like a rocket.

    Lot 276 - 1954 Jaguar XK140 Aluminium Roadster
    Registration 1-OBF-515
    Chassis Number 810348
    Engine Number tbc
    Estimate £110,000 - £140,000
    Hammer Not Sold

Very similar to the first XK120's with bespoke aluminium bodies, this spectacular XK140 has had a full aluminium body, hand-crafted in Germany at vast expense by the last owner. This includes an aluminium boot lid, bonnet, doors & wings. At the same time, the car was fitted with upgraded brakes, a five-speed Getrag gearbox and a highly tuned, triple carburettor and 3.8 litre engine. It should be noted that this gorgeous example cost a small fortune to build; nearly €200,000 by all accounts, which was done with the intention of creating the ultimate driver's XK for fast road use. It is finished in perfect silver paintwork to the exterior with medium green leather and carpets to the interior. A Kenlowe fan is fitted to assist in cooling duties up front. Driving this car extemporises how exhilarating it is to drive; indeed it makes standard XK's look positively pedestrian. The road-holding is superb due to the fitting of over-sized radial tyres which also make for a more comfortable ride. The late owner was quite tall so it suits people who are long in the leg far better than a standard car although this can be adjusted through the peddle-box. With all the work completed and the invoices settled, this represents a good time to invest in a seriously well engineered motorcar.

We are very pleased to offer this immaculate and extremely unique XK140 OTS for sale.

    1954 Jaguar XK140 Aluminium OTS

A most superb and unrepeatable XK140 built very similar to the first XK120's with bespoke aluminium bodies this XK140 has had a full aluminium body hand crafted in Germany at vast expense, built by LARO Sportwagen and reportedly cost over €200k some 15 years ago

The car has a hand built Aluminium boot lid, bonnet, doors, & wings......

It has a whole host of upgrades to make this XK140 one of the finest driving cars in existence and a very fast road car......it weighs nothing.

Jaguar Daimler heritage certificate confirms Export to New York, Dec 1954

Enhanced braking system with balance beam
    5 speed Getrag gear box
Highly tuned triple weber 3.8 litre engine producing 270bhp
Stainless exhaust system with sport manifolds
    Aluminium header tank
    Alloy Radiator
Hidden speaker and CD Changer system with remotely located controls
    Kenlowe Cooling fan
Larger tyres for better road holding
Modified suspension with gas-filled shock absorbers
    Brooklands sport seats
    Fog lights
    Chrome wire wheels
    Tonneau cover

The late owner was a tall Gentleman so to achieve his perfect XK140....a few years after the car was restored and rebuilt he then sent it to Stevies Garage Germany for the drivers foot well and pedal box repositioning, the complete process is on file and photographed, we have spoken to Stevie's Garage, they knew the car well and have done so for some 15+years it cost the then owner 20k to do this modification, it now suits people who are long in the leg far better then a standard car and is probably the only XK140 in existence with such a unique feature. Personally being 6'5in I can drive this car with ease.

It is a far cry from a standard XK, looking utterly beautiful with its long louvered bonnet & going like a rocket.

Offered at a very realistic price thus XK140 will definitely take some beating in both looks and performance.
