Build date is incorrect, has to be June.?

MBarnett is correct. I think this has to be an incorrect chassis number; the engine number, body number, gearbox number and date of dispatch all point to a car built in May 1959. The quoted build date of 26 May could be correct.

Hmmm! Ignore my last comment. From various reference books it is clear that 838270 & 838271 were completed on 26 June 1959, despite some later cars being completed in May. So, this car may have been completed on 26 May 1959.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
