Auction description:
Sale of Vintage, Classic and Collectors’ Motor Vehicles
To be held at BCA Bridgwater, Somerset on Monday 4th October 2004
JAGUAR XK 150 SE FIXED HEAD COUPÉ
The motor car we present here is a fixed head coupé of 1959 manufacture, finished in Midnight blue with grey leather interior trim. Whilst in the current ownership extensive work has been undertaken which included a 4.2-litre engine having been fitted around five years ago. The engine was blueprinted and balanced with polished crank and rods and high compression piston and fast road camshafts. Hardened valve seats have been fitted to enable the use of unleaded fuel. Coopercraft brakes have been fitted and the suspension was set up by renowned specialist, Guy Broad, and includes an anti-tramp bar. The stainless steel spoked wire wheels are shod with Pirelli P4000 tyres and the transmission benefits from an uprated competition overdrive unit.
The vehicle’s bodywork is understood to be in very good sound order having been repainted during the mid-1990s. The grey upholstery was also renewed at this time together with the carpets and head lining whilst the interior woodwork was also refurbished. The car has seen little use during the past three years and since the restoration was completed only around 6,000 miles are reported to have been covered. The original engine is available from the vendor by separate negotiation.
Documentation supplied includes the RF60 logbook attesting to the original Bournemouth registration number, a Swansea V5 and a number of invoices. An MOT certificate valid until 23rd June 2005 is also provided.

This car is mentioned in "Jaguar Driver" magazine March 2005 in a letter from the new owner, Tony Barron, presumably having bought it at the above auction.
