499 KBH is is lovely example of an un restored but generally well looked after XK150 SE. This car has had a full engine rebuild over winter 2017/8. (No real issues, just low coil pressure, spun main bearing). The car drives beautifully, no rattles, all instruments and lights work properly, hydraulic rear shocks, very fast, an easy 100mph cruiser!

Registration Number 499 KBH

MOT Expiry 01/08/2024

This delightful 3.4-litre XK150 Special Equipment was supplied by Henlys in early 1959 and is an original UK, right-hand drive car fitted from new with a manual gearbox with overdrive. It remains matching numbers as confirmed by its Heritage Certificate. It's finished in Indigo Blue with a classic Biscuit leather interior and currently sits on a set of new painted 16x6" wire wheels. It benefits from a stainless steel sports exhaust, electronic ignition, comprehensive sound proofing, and we understand that the engine was rebuilt around 3,000 miles ago.

Our vendor notes that the XK is 'mechanically perfect and driving beautifully. The paint is older but has a lovely patina with a high-gloss finish. The upholstery is in good condition and the carpets are good with some wear. The gearbox, overdrive and diff are all good and quiet'.

It's accompanied by the usual manuals, correspondence, its V5C and the current MOT which is valid until August 2024.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.
