Registration 955VYJ
Chassis Number 817065
Engine Number G1088-8
Estimate £82,000 - £90,000
Hammer Not Sold
Originally shipped to Hoffman of New York in December 1954, this XK 140 drophead coupé is believed to have spent some time in California before arriving in Europe in 2012. Photos show a remarkably complete and unspoiled car with excellent bodywork. It was restored and converted to righthand drive by a well known Northern Ireland Jaguar restorer and enthusiast so the paint, chrome and trim are to a very high standard. This is a well sorted driving XK which performs well and looks very good. It was fully serviced and checked through by XK specialists Twyford Moors in September 2014 at a cost of £4,000 since when it has been used sparingly. The engine shows good oil pressure, it has an unusually quiet Moss gearbox and the drum brakes are well set up. Finished in blue with black soft top roof and cream leather interior, this XK140 is supplied with a V5C registration document, a Heritage Certificate and a history file containing invoices and photographs.
