An absolutely exceptional vehicle given the quality of its restoration: a total EUR 85,000 was invested in a high quality restoration and now there is nothing else to do other than a new paintjob. The restoration was state of the art commencing with the sandblasting of the chassis and the body. Subsequently everything has been redone without attention to cost; numerous pictures and invoices bear witness the work that had been done. The work went on for 10 years and the owner progressively lost interest in the project and his mechanic retired. The only thing that needed to be done is a proper paintjob, as the one that had been applied is of a lacklustre quality and finish, it looks beautiful from afar, but won’t satisfy the careful eye upon closer inspection.
Except for this detail the car is truly exceptional. This is a great opportunity for enthusiasts of the XK 140 automatic coupé to be able to acquire a car of such a quality for a very good price that only reflects part of the cost of its restoration.
Available in Paris with US papers and EU customs cleared. It will be serviced and delivered road ready.

1954 JAGUAR XK 140 châssis n° 815357BW Carte grise de collection
In 1954 Sir William Lyons brought aesthetic and technical changes to the revolutionary Jaguar XK 120. The XK 140 differs aesthetically from its predecessor by bumpers and a grille unpublished. Technically, the changes are more important. The suspensions are modernized and the steering is now cogwheel. The 3.4L 6-cylinder XK engine is retained but advanced in the engine compartment to increase cabin space. The positioning of the two batteries in the front wings makes it possible to install a small auxiliary rear seat, absent on the XK 120. All these modernizations offer the XK 140 more Grand Touring behavior than the XK 120, more sporty and spartan. Our copy is an automatic box version which has undergone a total restoration including a repair of the mechanics, the gearbox and the bridge. The whole folder with photos is available to our customers.
