Ebay item 1/29/20
www.ebay.com/itm/1955-Jaguar-XK-140-Roadster/174174480941
Car has a buy it now price of $75,000, seller absolutexks, 66k miles.

Seller's description:
For sale and ready for summer is a 1955 Jaguar XK140 Open Two Seater. The car spent most of its life in the upper mid west stored inside. It is extremely solid and virtually rust free. I purchased the car as pictured from the previous owner of 45 years. It is a Special Equipment wire wheel car without the "C" type head option. The original engine and transmission were removed in the early 1970's and replaced with a 4.2 litre triple carb XKE engine and fully synchronized four speed gearbox. It also is equipped with a full power lock 3.54 ratio rear axle and 4 wheel power disc brakes. The car is fast and fun....and it stops!
This roadster has been well taken care of, and meticulously maintained as evidenced by the included records. This is a good quality driver and looks great from about 10 feet away. It could use a respray at some point as the old lacquer paint is heavily checked and flaking in some spots. I would drive it worry free as is: however, it is an excellent candidate for restoration should you be so inclined. The flaking paint reveals clean rust free original metal beneath. The interior is in good shape and appears to be a mix of some original and some restored components. Again good quality "driver" condition. The rev-counter has been converted to electronic and I would recommend changing it back to the traditional mechanical version. The gauge has a different appearance than the rest.
Absolute XKs has several motor options available, at an additional cost, including a completely rebuilt "C" type engine should you want to return this to a more traditional engine (I would not.... it's too much fun as is!)

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
