1955 Jaguar XK140 Roadster
To be auctioned on Thursday, January 16, 2014
Without Reserve
$90,000 - $110,000
Chassis no. 810765
Matching-numbers example
Recently disassembled and expertly repainted
Interior reupholstered in correct red leather trim
This XK140 Roadster (also known as an Open Two-Seater) has just been treated to a $15,000 hand-rubbed repaint by Deluxe Customs in Phoenix. It is the recipient of an older frame-off restoration, and when it was disassembled prior to being refinished, it was found to be sound and straight, as might be expected from an Arizona car. The interior has been refinished in the correct red leather, and the canvas top remains in excellent conditions, as do the essentially new side-screens. The engine compartment has been painstakingly and correctly detailed by Shawn Saunders, and it rides on rare Borrani wire wheels that have alloy rims and have been shod, more recently, in new tires. The chrome is excellent, and the car is fitted with the optional twin Lucas spotlights and correct J headlights. It is accompanied by the owner's manual and appropriate tools, and a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate, which is being acquired, will be included in the sale.

Sellers description:
1955 Jaguar XK 140 Roadster
This Jaguar has just had over $30,000 spent on it to bring it up to very high quality of condition. $15,000 was recently spent on a show quality paint job by Deluxe Customs of Tempe, AZ. Under the paint is a rust free excellent body with no signs of previous accident damage. The doors were hung properly and the fit & finish is exceptional. The Bironi style wire wheels were another $5,000 which although is not a factory option is rare and desirable as a few of the purchasers upgraded to Bironis initially to benefit from the wider stance and driveability. Being off-set they really fill out the wheel wells also. Seller will gladly provide a set of new Dayton 16" stock wheels if the new owner does not want the Beronis. The interior is all done in correct materials and shows very well.
The car is a matching number car and a Heritage Certificate verifies this and the fact that this is an original "white with red interior car".
The car runs and drives exceptionally well. A lot of time spent on an exceptionally high quality detailing of the engine compartment. All the aluminum gleams and the porcelain exhaust looks like new. All in all one of the nicest XK 140 roadster's available for the money.
