Car offered at:
www.carclassic.com/stock.asp
Sellers description:
Superb 1956 Jaguar XK 140 Roadster. Ex car of Mr Simon de Latour, who was director of the Winfield Racing School in Le Castelet.
Restored by its current owner, the chassis was sandblasted, and the bodywork was stripped. The engine was completely overhauled as were the steering and rolling elements. The upholstery is new and the vehicle is complete with a tonneau cover and side-screens, and soft top in excellent condition. The spoked Boranis are period and are fixed via 5 nuts.
This XK merits a repaint as the current paint job is now approximately 15 years old as well as a panel realignment.
Available now on the French Riviera with French collectors registration.

And why wouldn't an evergreen such as an XK 140 Roadster be bright red?
According to the Jaguar Heritage Certificate this XK is still in original colour combination (although the exterior paint colour was slightly more classic in Maroon) and matching numbers.
Maybe a bit unusual but also seen on other Jaguars XK are the Robergel wire wheels.
At a certain point in the 80-ies, this XK belonged to Mr. Simon Latour, director of the Winfield racing school in Le Castellet (South of France) and later in the hands of Mr. Edouard GaffiƩ who restored his XK in 1994.
In 2008 this XK arrives in Belgium in the possession of a keen British classic sportscar enthusiast who campains his Jaguar regularly in all sorts of local and international classic car events.
To improve the reliability and driving comfort, Coopercraft brakes are fitted, an alternator, an aluminium radiator + a Kenlow fan, an alloy fuel tank, etc... This Jaguar XK drives indeed beautifully!
Comes with good service records & Belgian registration documents + interesting "140.XK" registration (in case a Belgian enthusiast succumbs...)
This bright red "evergreen" Jaguar XK 140 Roadster is attractively priced at:
Price: 125.000 Euro

Digging through my stash of parts I came across the original chassis plate for this car. No idea how I got it but if the owner contacts me you can have it. Terry Larson
