Car to be at auction 3/12
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 330 - 1955 Jaguar XK140 Roadster
Estimate: £60,000 - £70,000
Registration Number: NSU 761
Chassis Number: S810666

This XK140 was supplied new to the dry states of California, with the SE pack, before being brought back from Santa Monica in the late '80s. NSU 761 was subsequently bought by the current vendor from the renowned DK Engineering as a project car. DK Engineering then carried out a three year rebuild, which included shotblasting the car and a bare metal repaint. The matching numbers engine was also rebuilt at this time. Bills totalled £30,000 - which, in the early '90s, was a sizeable chunk of money!

Having covered a mere 7,800 miles since being restored, NSU 761 comes complete with purchase receipts, some service history from the USA, a current MoT and UK V5 registration papers.

This is an opportunity to acquire a fine example of the XK 140 which played its part in creating the legend that has become Jaguar Cars; a perfect car for continental touring, to be used, polished and enjoyed.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
