Current bid $12,100 reserve not met, 14 bids, 5 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1957 XK 140 Roadster. The last time this 140 was on the road was in 1965. Only 3,347 XK 140 Roadsters were produced. This 140 was repainted only once. From the factory it was originally black, with red interior. The white painted that was applied is currently peeling off, showing the original black in different areas. There is some rust on the seals, also on the bottom the the rear fenders. There is some rust on the A post, also some rust on the turn signal light on drivers side only. The headlamps are in excellent condition. None of the doors have play in the hinges. The driver's door does not close very well. The spare tire compartment is bent a little, must have run over something,no rust though. The car comes with side curtains. According to the previous owner when he bought the car the original engine was bad, it then replaced it with the Jaguar engine that is currently in the car, it is not a matching numbers car. Overall this car is an excellent restoration project, especially due to the low production numbers. Please note in the pictures where you see black areas, most of these is where the white paint has peeled of. Numbers from the id plate, Chassis 810108, engine G 1103.8, body F10113, gearbox, OSL 2097 B, the engine in the car the head is A2718-8, Block A2767-8.

Car is sold with bill of sale only, Georgia will not issue nor does it require a title for a car of this age.

Were it 1957 built it would be among the last made. It is in fact among the first built in 1954 November

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
