    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-120-2-DR-COUPE-1954-JAGUAR-XK-120-FIXED-HEAD-C ...
Current bid $7,100, no reserve, 3 bids, 9 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
OWNED AND DRIVEN BY ME SINCE I ACQUIRED IT FROM A PRIVATE OWNER AT SOME POINT IN THE 1970's. ..I USED IT DURING WARM SEASONS OF THE YEAR AND KEPT IT IN DRY STORAGE IN WINTER. ..IT WAS LAST LICENSED, INSPECTED AND DRIVEN IN 1988. ..THE ODOMETER SHOWS 3,388 MILES. PROBABLY SIGNIFYING 103,388.. IT RAN WELL AND WHEN CALLED FOR, WAS GIVEN THE ATTENTION THAT A PRIVATE OWNER, AND CAR ENTHUSIAST, WOULD NORMALLY PERFORM, SUCH AS LUBRICATION, PLUGS, TUNING AND ETC. DURING THE TIME I OWNED THIS CAR, I HAD OTHER VINTAGE CARS, INCLUDING A 37 CORD AND A NUMBER OF OTHER SPORT TYPE CARS INCLUDING. MG'S, A PORSCHE COUPE AND OTHER VINTAGE CARS. ..ALL WERE OUR SECONDARY CARS. ..THE ORIGINAL COLOR WAS "OLD ENGLISH WHITE". IT STILL IS THIS COLOR BUT NOT FACTORY ORIGINAL PAINT. IT HAS BEEN STORED "WET" WITH PERMANENT ANTIFREEZE..AND THE CYLINDERS & PISTONS SPRAY LUBED PERIODICALLY VIA THE PLUG HOLES, THEN TURNING THE ENGINE. ..STEERING AND SUSPENSION ARE IN GOOD CONDITION AS STORED WITH NO WEAKNESS OF CHASSIS. ..CAR ROLLS WELL.

NOTE: THE DOORS CLOSE .. BUT SUFFER FROM DOOR HINGE BEARING SAG. THE WINDOWS ARE GOOD AND WIND UP AND DOWN WELL.

I CONSIDER THIS XK 120 JAGUAR AS AN IDEAL RESTORATION PROJECT. ..I AM SELLING IT AS AN ORIGINAL AND IN THE PAST, GOOD RUNNING CAR THAT HAS BEEN STORED AWAY SOME 20 YEARS. ..IF SOMEONE WANTS, I WOULD THINK IT COULD BE PARTIALLY RESTORED AND DRIVEN AS SUCH.

    ENGINE IS 8 : 1 COMPRESSION RATIO ..160 H.P @ 5200 rpm. ..3.5 LITRE ... 210 CUBIC INCHES.

"NOT PRESENTLY RUNNING" CONDITION. .. THE ENGINE TURNS OVER FREELY, THE TIRES ON IT ARE NOT SAFE OR ROADWORTHY IN ANY WAY AS I REMOVED ITS GOOD TIRES WHEN STORED AND REPLACED THEM WITH OLDER TIRES JUST GOOD FOR STORAGE. .. NO BATTERY. THE HYDRAULIC BRAKES WORKED FINE WHEN STORED. .THE FLUID IS NOW DEPLETED SO IT DOES NOT HAVE WORKING BRAKES. ..THE EMERGENCY BRAKE DOES WORK. ..THERE ARE NO REAR WHEEL COVERS ..HUB CAPS INTACT BUT NEED REFINISHING. ..A CORRECT SPARE WHEEL, WITH NO TIRE, IS WITH IT . NO ORIGINAL FACTORY TOOLS COME WITH IT. NO RADIO..EVER ..HAS NEAT DASH DRAWER INSTEAD ..THE LEATHER UPHOLSTERY IS ORIGINAL BUT IN POOR CONDITION. ..I USED A SINGLE 12 V. BATTERY IN THE LEFT SIDE BATTERY BOX. THE FLOOR CARPET IS NOT ORIGINAL. ENGINE RAN WELL AND TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH WORKED FINE WHEN STORED. DID NOT FOG.

THIS IS A 10 DAY AUCTION SO POTENTIAL BIDDERS HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO INSPECT IN PERSON. YOU CAN COME BY CAR OR YOU CAN FLY INTO SYRACUSE, N.Y. OR ALBANY N.Y AND RENT A CAR...BOTH CITIES ARE EACH ABOUT 65 MILES BY CAR FROM MY HOME.

    ..PERSONAL INSPECTION IS ENCOURAGED.

THERE IS VERY LITTLE BODY RUST ..HERE AND THERE SOME SURFACE RUST ONLY. ONE OF MY PHOTOS SHOWS RUST THROUGH ON THE SHEET METAL FLOOR BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT. ..TO MY KNOWLEDGE THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD NO MAJOR BODY WORK EVER...AND WAS NEVER IN A COLLISION AND NEVER RESTORED. IT MAY HAVE HAD WORK ON THE ENGINE BEFORE I ACQUIRED IT ..IT RAN WELL. AND DID NOT USE MUCH OIL.

THE "TRIM" CHROME AROUND THE WINDSHIELD AND THE WINDOWS AND DOORS IS FACTORY CHROME ,AND THOUGH AGED SOME, IS STILL PRESENTABLE AND USABLE . BUMPERS AND HUBCAPS CERTAINLY NEED RECHROMING. ..WEATHER STRIPS THROUGHOUT ARE AGED.

I HAVE JUST NOW FOUND THE ORIGINAL FACTORY OWNERS MANUAL THAT I RECEIVED WITH THIS CAR YEARS AGO ! ..THOUGH ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES IT GOES WITH THE CAR TO THE NEW OWNER. GOOD TO HAVE. YOU'LL LIKE IT.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
