Seller's description:
Offered here is a very complete XK120 coupe that was just pulled from a barn in Alabama where it was stored for the past 40 years. It is overall in very solid condition and is certainly worthy of being restored. The interesting part about this car is it was fitted with a 1961 Chevy Small Block V8 engine and 4 speed transmission early on in its life. The headlights were also modified at that time and fitted with 356 Porsche Hella headlights. It still has its original Jaguar rear axle as well. It also came with another fairly complete XK120 chassis with a proper 3.4 liter XK engine and original gearbox. The entire extra chassis and parts go with the car (I would be happy to pull the engine if the new owner does not wish to have the entire extra chassis). The XK engine in the extra chassis that goes with the car is a special equipment model engine so it has the higher lift camshafts from the factory. The coupe is complete with its original firewall plate with the chassis number and engine number etc... and it also comes with an extra new hood for the car. It is also complete with its full original dash with all of its original Jaguar Smiths gauges as well which all look to be in good condition. The paint is obviously in disrepair and peeling, but the car itself is very solid despite the scruffy looking paint. The wood floorboards in the front had been replaced with steel ones at one time and they have rust, but the wood floorboards should be put back in the car anyway. Overall this is a very interesting unrestored XK120 fixed head coupe that would be great to put back on the road with the Chevy V8 engine or with the original XK120 SE engine back in the car. A great project for the winter.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
