Sellers description:
1953 Jaguar Fixed Head Coupe is truly an original, one of a kind car, featuring numerous, unusual, custom details. When the car was new, it was delivered from a Jaguar dealer in Paris, France, where it was customized by a professional coach builder. There is a metal plaque located on the bottom of the left front fender, which reads Xecution Speciale. This can be seen in the picture gallery. Though I am not absolutely certain, I believe that this may be the coach builder's signiture.

The following is an impressiive list of parts,which were completely custom fabricated, not after market:

* Dual side mount spares hidden within the front fenders

* Custom front and rear bumpers

* Custom removable luggage rack on roof

* Custom sliding sun roof

* Custom aluminum side mouldings

* Louvered hood with interior ducting

* Six rare french bolt on wire wheels


The original engine is not currently installed in the car,but I do have the correct engine with matching numbers, which is disassembled. The engine that is currently installed in the car is from a Jaguar sedan. The interior and dash are not original. The body has some surface rust, and rust through areas,and the paint is not original. The car has been in my possession, in dry storage, since 1982. Engine no.W5769.8.Chassis no.680306.

This would be a wonderful restoration project for the Jaguar enthusiast,or those of you who have a passion for rare ,vintage cars.

As far as the coach builder is concerned, I can tell you that the *Xécution spéciale* plaque is not his signiture. I think that the First letter of the first word has long ago fallen and might have been an *E* which makes the plaque read: *Exécution spéciale* in French ie *Special Order* in English.
I will try to trace the coach builder's name thru a specialized blog.

As odd as this is, I like the modifications, they follow the original design of the car much better then some that have been done in the past. It is very French... you can sure see the Talbot Lago influence.
