The XK-120 was fitted with an XK-140 bonnet and grille in the old day. It was done in Spokane, WA. I have retro a correct 120 bonnet and will be restoring it shortly.

It can't be "original specs" if it is a 5 speed with front discs... Just sayin'...

Mr. Peter Ingram. In your opinion what should be the Transmission number? . Also the car could have been built in 1952 as you pointed out, but the Texas Title reads 1951. You seems to be to know everything about Jaguars, can you search the VIN # and let me know if it was built in 1952 or in 1951. Thanks.

This 1951 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe is finished in red over tan leather and is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six mated to a T5 five-speed manual transmission. The car was refurbished by KJ Jags of Boerne, Texas in 2008, and more than $6k worth of service in 2020 included replacing the harmonic balancer and the crankshaft pulley as well as rebuilding the carburetors and the distributors. The current owner acquired the car in Texas in 2007 and later moved it to New Mexico. This XK120 is now offered by the selling dealer on behalf of the current owner with refurbishment paperwork, a receipt for the recent service, a Jaguar Heritage certificate, and a New Mexico title in the owner’s name. The red finish was applied in mid-2008 and is a color change from the original Birch Grey. This FHC features flip-out rear quarter windows, a leather hood strap, and dual fender-mounted outside mirrors. Chrome-finished 16″ wire wheels with knock-off hubs wear Continental ContiProContact tires in size 205/65.
The left-hand-drive interior has been trimmed in tan leather with matching door panels and carpets. The black four-spoke steering wheel fronts a burl-wood dash, and additional wood trim is located at the top of the door panels.
A chrome rearview mirror sits atop the dash. The centrally located instruments include a reverse-sweep tachometer with an integrated clock, a 140-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. Just over 65k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, and true mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six is fed by dual SU carburetors and is mated to a Borg-Warner T5 five-speed manual transmission. In February 2020, the selling dealer rebuilt the carburetors and the distributors, installed new spark-plug wires, and replaced the harmonic balancer and the crankshaft pulley. Additionally, the cooling fan and thermostat housing were replaced and new radiator hoses fitted; there is a $6,370 invoice from Santa Fe British of New Mexico along with documentation from the 2008 refurbishment.

The Jaguar Heritage certificate shows factory-installed serial numbers for the chassis, engine, and gearbox, as well as a build date of October 9, 1952, and the original colors as Birch Grey over red.
