I would like to locate the original engine and gearbox for this car. Car is rough but one of the very first XK 120 FH coupes the factory made; has the very unusually long sidelamp housings and other very early features.

Current bid $2,000 reserve not met, 1 bid, 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Very early Jaguar XK 120 coupe (car no. 679011) the eleventh LHD FHC off the assembly line at Browns Lane. This car has none of the original driveline remaining except the original driveshaft and ENV rear end. Frame matches the ID plate and a complete 3-1/2 litre 1951 Mark VII engine and gearbox go are offered with the car. This engine does have the XK 120 aluminum oil pan. Included in this auction is the original metal instrument panel and all correct gauges - NOS speedometer, rebuilt tachometer in mint condition, rebuilt oil pressure/temp gauge in mint condition and excellent amp and petrol/oil level gauges. Included are the following: new sheet metal firewall, floor panels, gas tank support and spare tire panels, quarter panels, battery boxes, sills and shut face panels. There are no fender skirts, no grill, bumpers, radiator or other brightwork included. Seats and seat frames are included as well as original bonnet (expertly repaired), doors and boot lid. The boot lid needs replacement wood and the metal will need some work. There is no finished interior wood for this car except for a pair of the long cantrail cappings. This car has the very long tapered sidelamp housings leaded into the fenders at the factory - a feature I believe of cars number 679003 through 679018 only. This same feature was on car number 679008 (which I used to own), as well as car number 679012 (which I have seen).

I owned this car from about 1975 through about 2003-4 when it was sold to Larry Springer. I can add some history (Chevy engine!) and some prior owners if anybody is interested.

hello Ed, yes I am very interested about the story of n°11.
Even if now it 's a very difficult restoration project,
I looked at this car from when owned by Larry, who was working to find its engine.
many thanks for letting me know.
