This 1954 Jaguar XK120 is a left-hand drive Drophead coupe that was produced on September 2, 1953, and was delivered new to Los Angeles, California. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2016 and is said to have undergone a subsequent refurbishment that included a repaint, engine and transmission rebuilds, and an interior refresh. Finished in green over cream leather, the car is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. Features include a dark green soft top with a matching boot, 16” wire wheels, chrome bumperettes, and Smiths instrumentation. This XK120 is offered on dealership consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and a clean New Jersey title.
The car left the factory in Birch Grey and is said to have been refinished in Aston Martin California Sage Green as part of the refurbishment. Equipment includes a dark green soft top with a matching boot as well as a fender-mounted antenna and chrome bumperettes and trim.
Chrome-finished 16” wire wheels wear two-eared knock-off spinners and 195-width Vredestein Classic tires. A full-size spare is housed in the rear storage area.
The cabin is said to have been refreshed with cream leather upholstery and replacement seat cushions, wood trim, and Wilton carpeting. Features include under dash lighting, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and a lockable glovebox.
The wood dash houses centrally-located Smiths instrumentation that consists of a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer with a 5,200-rpm redline, and secondary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 7k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six is said to have been overhauled as part of the refurbishment with a rebuilt starter and generator as well as replacement of the following components:
Water pump
Oil pump
SU carburetors
Wiring harness
Voltage regulator
Freeze plugs
Bearings
Hardened valve seats
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox. The transmission, clutch, and rear end have reportedly been rebuilt.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate lists factory colors, identification numbers, and a build date of September 2, 1953. The car is titled to engine number W9715-8.
