Comprehensive older restoration
The bodywork of the model we are offering for sale is in very good overall condition. Its excellent red paintwork underlines the car's sporting character, while its beige leather upholstery is also most elegant, as are its carpets and interior trim. Its walnut-veneered dashboard is in the correct original specification, complete with all its Smiths instruments. The Jaguar has its original steering wheel, as well as a new beige hood - which is lined and of excellent quality - and tonneau cover. This drophead coupé offers balanced handling and proved highly satisfactory on test. Following a major restoration from 2004 to 2006, its current owner - as demanding as he is passionate about the marque - has continued to lavish care on the car, which is still equipped with its three Weber carburettors.
With 12,000 cars built from 1948 to 1954, this exclusive convertible has one of the most elegant bodies of its time. Its aerodynamic styling recalls that of the Bugatti 57 SC or the designs of the coachbuilder Pourtout, so flowing and perfectly drawn are its lines. This is a unique opportunity to become the owner of one of the most accomplished English convertibles.
