This 1953 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe is finished in white over red and powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes dual SU carburetors, 16” wheels, chrome bumpers, wheel spats, wood interior trim, and a Jensen AM/FM cassette stereo. The seller acquired the car in 2022, and subsequent work is said to have involved replacing the black soft top, the starter motor, and the brake master cylinder. This XK120 is now offered in New York with tools and a Florida title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in white under prior ownership and features a black soft top, a split windshield, fender-mounted side mirrors, wheel spats, and chrome rear bumperettes. The seller notes bubbling paint at the bottom of the doors, and cracks in the windshield seal are shown up close in the gallery.
Red-finished 16” steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with 6.00” Allstate whitewall tires. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners, and the master cylinder was reportedly replaced under current ownership.
The cabin is upholstered in red with a burl wood dashboard and wood trim on the windshield frame and doors. A Jensen AM/FM cassette stereo is installed, there is discoloration in the glove compartment.
Centrally mounted Smiths instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer, auxiliary gauges, and a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors, and the starter motor is said to have been replaced under current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with an electrically actuated overdrive unit.
The car is titled by its engine number—W88278—and the title notes a prior Pennsylvania Classic Vehicle brand.
