This is a car we bought about 10 years ago and are finally now planning its restoration.

It's currently in good condition, however the paint job is sub-par and the fender beading has been painted over.

The transmission has the "mossy gears" issue where the shifter occasionally becomes stuck in first. We're researching methods for correcting this.

We're also trying to diagnose why the sparkplugs become fouled after only a few days' use.

Very excited to be planning the restoration of this beautiful car.

Current bid $3,617 reserve not met, 4 bids 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1954 Jaguar XK120 Steel-Wheeled Roadster. It's well-known that these cars have enjoyed a dramatic increase in value in the past few years, and that trend shows no indication of stopping. This is a car that you can enjoy while it appreciates.

The build plate has the following information:

CHASSIS: 675188
BODY: F7465
ENGINE: F2344-8
GEARBOX: JL21204

Engine Block, Chassis, and Body numbers all match the build tag. The head number does not match the block number. I have not been able to get to the Gearbox number to see if it matches.

According to the build numbers, this car was originally manufactured with a Suede Green body and interior. The car has since been repainted in Old English White and a black vinyl interior has been installed.

The body is in very good condition; no rust, and only one very small dent on the passenger side door which I've photographed and posted. The paint is also in very good condition, with just a small area by the rear passenger side bumper and rear driver side fender welting showing some chipping which has been touched up.

We've had more than one person familiar with Jaguars of this vintage tell us that the rear fenders appear to be from a wire-wheeled car due to the fact that they don't have a lip for the spats to attach. We don't have spats for this car, so we've never tried to mount them; but it does seem that there should be something to hold the spats in place.

The engine starts right up when warm and runs very smoothly. I have posted a YouTube video of starting the car here:

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
