car is on Auction at Hemmings:

www.hemmings.com/auction/1954-jaguar-xk120-gilford-nh-232076

Description:

This refurbished, left-hand-drive 1954 Jaguar XK120 Open Two Seat Roadster has been part of a New Hampshire museum although it has never been displayed, according to its president, who has listed the car for auction. The refurbishment dates to 1999 but presents as much fresher in the care of the museum and includes a new interior, paint, and tires five years ago. A non-original 3.4-liter Jaguar engine block, with the original DOHC cylinder head, resides under the bonnet. A handmade all-leather interior further enhances the appearance of this landmark Jaguar. Also included in the sale are a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, a new fabric top, a full tonneau cover, and a tool roll.

Features:

- This 1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster represents the model’s final production year.

- The engine block is not original, but is an in-period 3.4-liter replacement.

- The DOHC cylinder head is reportedly original to this XK120.

- Slight surface rust is reported under the hood on the master cylinder and lines.

- The power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

- No issues or leaks are reported with the powertrain.

- The exterior was repainted British Racing Green in 1999 and presents strongly.

- No dents or dings are reported.

- All glass and lights appear to present clearly and free of blemishes.

- The interior and paint were refreshed five years ago.

- A tan fabric folding top (not shown) is identified as “new, and never used.”

- A full tonneau cover is said to have one hole that has been repaired.

- No side curtains were manufactured to preserve the leather cockpit surround.

- The tan leather interior is identified as “all new, and handmade.”

- This is seemingly affirmed by photos displaying the unmarked and undamaged interior.

- All gauges, controls, and interior trim are seen as complete.

- The Jaguar has been converted to electronic ignition.

- The odometer reading of 11,957 miles is believed to date back to the refurbishment.

- The undercarriage photos show only light surface corrosion from age.

- The original, painted 16-inch steel wheels include chrome center caps and rings.

- Coker Classic wide whitewall tires were new five years ago.

- This car is equipped with a new fuel pump.
